Technical SEO is the foundation your website is built on. Without it, no amount of content or links will help you rank.
Checklist:
- Submit your sitemap to Google Search Console
- Make sure every page has a unique title tag and meta description
- Use HTTPS (SSL certificate)
- Fix all broken links (404 errors)
- Make sure your site is mobile-friendly
- Check your page speed and optimise slow pages
- Use proper heading structure (H1, H2, H3)
- Add alt text to every image
- Set up proper redirects when pages move
- Block pages you do not want indexed (admin, thank you pages)
- Check your robots.txt file
- Make sure your site has no duplicate content
Run this checklist once a quarter. Fix what you find. Your rankings will improve. This is not optional. This is the price of admission to Google.
